Who we are

A-square (“A-square”, “we”, “us”) is a Delaware corporation based in Washington, DC. We run lcasquare.com and the A-square brand positioning service for B2B technology companies. This policy explains what personal information we collect on this website and while delivering the service, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions go to [email protected].

Information you give us

Contact requests: your name, work email, company, website, ARR band, whether you know your customer acquisition cost, and your message.

Expert applications: the same contact details, plus your LinkedIn profile, years of experience and focus areas.

Conversations: what you send us by email or share on a call, including notes we take during an intro call or an expert interview.

Information collected when you visit

We use Google Analytics to see how people use this website: which pages they visit, how they got here, roughly where they are, and what device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell one visit from the next. It gives us totals and trends, not your name or email. Google processes this data for us under its own terms, and you can read how at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

To opt out, block cookies in your browser settings or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works the same either way.

We don't run advertising cookies or ad pixels. Like any website, our hosting provider also records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of each request. We use those logs to keep the site secure and working.

Client data inside the service

When a company engages us, we process information on its behalf to deliver the work. That can include transcripts and notes from our interviews with its product, marketing, sales and leadership teams and its external partners. It can also include customer interviews, sales call recordings, surveys, decks, documents, and data from read-only connections to Google Analytics, Search Console and HubSpot. The client decides what to share, and our engagement agreement with the client governs how that data is handled.

We also collect public information to analyze a market: competitor websites, posts, ads and G2 profiles, reviews on G2 and Capterra, Reddit threads, search queries, and the answers ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini give to category questions. Public posts and reviews can include a person’s name or handle. We use them only as evidence of what a market says, not to profile individuals.

How we use AI

A domain-specific AI reads and analyzes the material above, and our experts review every result. Before any text is sent to an AI model provider, personal details such as emails, phone numbers and card numbers are stripped out. We don't use any individual client’s data to train models.

How we use information

We use personal information to answer your request, schedule and prepare calls, assess expert applications, deliver and improve the service, keep our systems secure, meet legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. We don't add form submitters to a newsletter or an automated email sequence.

Who we share it with

Service providers who help us run the website and the service, such as hosting, website analytics, email delivery, our CRM and AI model providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data to the work they do for us.

Experts assigned to a client’s engagement, who work under confidentiality obligations and see only the brands they are granted.

Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of A-square, our clients or others.

A buyer or successor if A-square is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with this policy continuing to apply.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll confirm your identity, answer within the time the law sets, and not treat you differently for asking.

If your information reached us as part of a client engagement, we'll pass your request to that client and help them respond.

Our website doesn't respond to browser Do Not Track signals. We don't use analytics to follow you across other sites.

Retention

Client data is kept for the length of the engagement and as the engagement agreement sets out. When an engagement ends, a client can ask us to delete its uploads and customer quotes while keeping the scores and themes that record its progress. We keep some records longer when the law requires it.

Security

Client data is encrypted at rest. Uploaded files are private, access is by invite only with optional two-factor authentication, each brand is sealed off from every other brand, and every access to client data is logged. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell affected people about a breach as the law requires. The Security page lists our controls in full.

Children

Our website and service are for businesses and aren't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Other websites

Our website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn and the sources behind the statistics we cite. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any change on this page with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll tell clients directly before it takes effect.
